KAT ATKINSON:Content Creator, Public Speaker and Fashion Marketing lecturer

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF…..

I’m Kat, I’m a Content Creator, Public Speaker and Fashion Marketing lecturer from Yorkshire.

WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY?

My friends, fashion,  exploring a new city/

WHO IS YOUR STYLE ICON AND WHY?

I don’t have a specific person, a lot of people inspire me, whether that’s people I follow on Instagram or people I walk past in the street. I’m really inspired by Japanese culture and fashion, however,  and like to incorporate nods to it in the way that I dress. I love adding texture and volume to an outfit to add interest to an otherwise quite simple outfit.

WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO AND READING AT THE MOMENT?

I’ve been listening to a lot of Vancouver Sleep Clinic, work has been quite stressful of late so when I get in I like to put something quite soothing and relaxing on whilst I’m making tea or chilling out. I’m currently reading Roxi Nafousi’s ‘Dive Deeper’ manifestation book. I’m a hugely spiritual person and love all things, astrology, crystals and have got very into manifestation over the last year or so. A lot of people have differing opinions on it, which is fine, but I figure if a technique which trains yourself to be more grateful and have a more positive outlook that can only ever be a good thing right?!

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT SIDELINE?

I have loved Sideline as a brand since I first discovered it. There is such an attention to detail which is what I really look for in the clothes I buy. Considered pattern, colour and design all play a huge part and I particularly love the jackets, especially the Alma jacket this season, I don’t often buy patterned outerwear as I like to invest in things that can be worn in a multitude of ways and often I find overly patterned items difficult to style but the fact it’s reversible with a gorgeous rust colour on one side and the check pattern on the other means I can fill the patterned jacket void in my wardrobe for a day where my plain outfit needs elevating but still get the cost per wear as the plain rust side goes with so much.

Kat wears this seasons Alma Jacket.
