Tell us a bit about yourself...

I have lived in Brighton for the last 6 years and nearly 5 years ago my husband and I set up ODE -  a womenswear, menswear and lifestyle store. Alongside this I'm a mother to my baby boy and step mother to my two step daughters so finding much time to myself is a challenge! I walk to work every day through the busy Brighton Laines which I love and on days I'm not working I'm generally chasing after my children.

What inspires you?

I feel most happy and inspired by time spent outdoors, I love time by the sea, in the countryside and pottering away in our garden but I can also spend hours looking at interiors or photography. I am always in awe of people who can create and draw and paint and find that I'm more of a curator than actually good at creating anything! Basically good at shopping & mood boarding! Travelling is also a huge inspiration to me and I love seeing how other cultures relax, eat, celebrate and dress - it frees your mind and makes you see the world differently - my favourite places are probably Martha, Texas and Bahia, Brazil.

What makes you happy?

I'm happiest when with my family and friends - generally with a glass of rose in hand and preferably by a beach. My garden and home make me feel content and I love long summer evenings and bbqs cooked by my husband. Seeing my children playing together and laughing fills me with happiness. Oh and a sunset! I would be happiest if I could see a sunset every single evening please.

Who is your style icon and why?

I don't think I have one style icon, from a very young age I was interested in fashion and styling and would raid my mother's wardrobe and play dress up. I love looking at past trends and fashions and was especially obsessed with the Supers and Christy Turlington. My mother has a real eye for clothing and colour and her style in the 70s was amazing so I look to her a lot. I think moving to Brighton has also changed my style and I'm currently really drawn to a more natural look with lots of current LA brands really inspiring me.

What are you listening to and reading at the moment?

I love to read even though I don't do it enough - recently I've been reading a lot of Patti Smith and Joan Didion. I couldn't put down A Little Life when I read it last year. But on a day to day basis I love reading fashion magazines, I suppose it's work in a way but it doesn't feel like that. My husband and I met working in TV, specifically documentaries so we listen to Podcasts a lot, such as This American Life, S-Town, Serial and Pod Save America. But we also watch a lot of documentaries, my recent favourites have been Last Chance U and Death on a Staircase.

What do you like about SIDELINE?

We were lucky enough to stock the very first season of Sideline and I knew as soon as we saw the collection that we had to have it. Sideline is so effortless and easy - every piece is something you can wear again and again and style in so many ways. The textures, fabrics and shapes are so thought through and you know each piece will stay in your wardrobe forever.
